  • Eagles fighting over a coot snatched from the small group huddled in the open water toward the center of the image. One of the eagles dropped one and is diving to retrieve it. View at 'Original' size for a closer look.

  • The other shots from today - the eagles and swans - were shot with a borrowed Nikkor 500mm Reflex lens. I took this with my iPhone 4s to give an idea of just how potent 500mm is - the eagles in the other photos are the tiny specks about 1/2 across the lake - if the image is viewed full size they can *just* be made out. The other images are cropped a bit, but not bad, I must say.
